ABOUT SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES

St. Vincent & The Grenadines is an independent nation within the British Commonwealth, nestled in the Windward Islands of the Eastern Caribbean. Located between St. Lucia to the north and Grenada to the south, this tropical paradise lies approximately 90 miles west of Barbados. The country consists of 42 islands and cays, with the largest being St. Vincent itself.

The main island of St. Vincent stretches 18 miles in length and 11 miles in width, while the Grenadines, a chain of smaller islands, extend southward. These islands are renowned for their picturesque coves, pristine white coral sand beaches, and crystal-clear waters, making them ideal for diving, snorkeling, and relaxation.

St. Vincent is a lush, volcanic island with breathtaking natural beauty. Largely untouched by mass tourism, it attracts yachtsmen and nature enthusiasts seeking an authentic Caribbean experience. The island's dramatic landscape is shaped by an active volcano, La Soufrière, located at its northern tip, surrounded by a tropical rainforest, cascading waterfalls, and the oldest botanical garden in the Western Hemisphere. Its fertile valleys are filled with coconut trees, bananas, breadfruit, and nutmeg, enhancing its lush, tropical environment.

St. Vincent is also home to one of the last remaining communities of Carib Indians, who still reside on the northern slopes of Soufrière. While the island proudly preserves its indigenous heritage, it also blends British colonial history with a relaxed West Indian lifestyle. The capital, Kingstown, is located on the southern coast and serves as the island’s commercial and cultural hub.

Among the most popular islands in the Grenadines are Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, Mayreau, Palm Island, the Tobago Cays, Union Island, and Petit St. Vincent (PSV). These islands, often frequented by yachtsmen, each offer a unique and serene getaway experience.
